時間の売買、売った時間分だけ死んでしまう。
雄二(浜田信也)に父親が死んだことを伝える保住奈々子(西牟田恵)の死に対するズレた感覚や、桜井(盛隆司)・小松崎(安井順平)ふたりのコミカルな会話も、寿命が切り売りできる環境に居れば納得。実感できない１／３０秒の搾取された時間＝１／３０秒の死、永遠ではない死なのだものなあ。
一方、死神にとりつかれ余命わずかと思っている黒沢(内田慈)は辻斬りならぬ辻ボクシング。闘っている間は時間を無限に感じられるという理由でストリートファイトを仕掛ける。
雄二は管理システムの欠陥からIDが無効となって法的に死んでしまった存在、桜井・浅野(緒方健児)は時間売買で一定期間死を余儀なくされた存在、保住・小松崎・浅野房子(岩本幸子)も時間売買に関わる存在で、それは管理システムとも関係があるっぽい。でも、黒沢だけだけは、管理システムとは無縁な"死神"にとりつかれている存在であるのは対照的で面白いですね。
で、管理システムの時間売買のナゾの解明．．．となると、スリルとサスペンスなSFとなるけれど、ナゾ解きはされず、物語の主体は黒沢の行末。結果ホラーメルヘンとも呼べるようなファンタジーになっていました。
「死神」の未来版・アナザストーリーのようでもあり。「死神」は寿命を蝋燭の長さで、蝋燭の交換で寿命のやり取りができる世界でしたが、「表と裏と、その向こう」では、高度に電子化された情報として寿命。
『管理システムとは無縁な"死神"』と書いたけれど、実は"死神"を電子情報化した世界といえるかも。黒沢の見ている死神も、桜井・小松崎らが見ている寿命データも、観る側の認識の違いだけで、実は同一なのかもしれませんね。
蝋燭を交換するように、他人のIDを盗んでシステム上他人に成りすましたら、寿命データが代わって、ホントの寿命もかわったりしてね。
．．．などと、いろいろ考えてみるのも楽しいものです。
内田慈嬢、ボクシングかっこよく本気で強そう．．．っていうか容赦なさそうで良いです(笑)。岩本幸子嬢はいい声だなあ。
