短編集「思い出トランプ」に収録の「だいこんの月」「だらだら坂」「花の名前」「かわうそ」の４作品をもとに一本の芝居に仕上げられているとのこと。大人になった健太が、祖母・幸恵の通夜の晩に昔を回想するかたちで物語が始まります。
初めて向田邦子の世界に接したのは1979年のNHKドラマ「阿修羅のごとく」、次が「あ・うん」だったかと思います。自分は中学生の頃でした。当時は、家族の闇の部分・父親の男の部分・母親の女の部分等の描かれ方が生々しく感じられて(加藤治子さんが恐かった)、ちょっと苦手な世界ではありました。以来、向田邦子作品は無意識に避けていたように思いますが、今回、舞台を見て、また、終演後、物版コーナーで買った原作本を読んでみて、人間のもつ業の部分がリアルで時にコミカルで「なんて面白いのだろう」と目からウロコな気分でした。
・根岸季衣さんと阿知波悟美さんを間近で見られる贅沢さ。
・山口良一氏、ちょっと暗さや哀しさがただよう父親。いままで山口氏に持っていたイメージは"単なるいいひと"でしたが、良い意味で裏切られました。
・宮地雅子さん、一人きりになったときの雰囲気の恐ろしさに背筋も凍る。
・田中麗奈さん、息子の事故のあとの身も心も居場所の無い様子に観客として同情しつつも、やはり女って強いよな、たくまいいよなと思わせる。蛇足ながらラストの喪服は眼福でした。
