宝塚初演版は東京公演を見ています。宝塚を見るようになって確か３本目だったかな。初の１本物の大作で、感動した覚えがあります。音楽がよくて、当時は実況版ＣＤをヘビロテしてました。ファラオは祈りのために篭る場面の「間も無く銅鑼が鳴る～」の歌は、何度聞いても背筋がゾクっとするほどかっこよかったですが、今回の舞台では、男性の太い歌声が加わり、かっこよさ200%アップでした。
宝塚版のコミックソング「エジプトすごつよ♪」は、歌詞は「すごい、つよい」のまま、曲調はエジプト風音楽に変更となっていました。これは正しい選択だと思いますが、宝塚版で最も印象に残ったのが「すごつよソング」であるのも事実(今でもたまに口ずさんだりしちゃいます)。
音楽の追加・変更は随所にあり、安蘭嬢のソロ場面が増えていました。
内容に関して、宝塚版からの大きな変更はありませんが、アイーダとラダメスの愛が、より強調されている感じを受けました。 宝塚版との最大の違いは物語の内容でも演出でもなく「全員歌がうまい」ということじゃないでしょうか。
不安定なアムネリス(檀れい)の歌、女官(陽月華）の調子はずれの「すごつよ♪」は、当時、劇場の椅子からずり落ちそうになったものですが、本作を見て、「全員歌がうまいと、なんと安心できることか」と感心しちゃいましたよ。
